Frequently asked questions
Can a wheelchair really climb stairs safely?
Yes — the XSTO X12 uses a dual-track caterpillar chassis with AI balance and LIDAR sensors. It climbs stairs up to 40° at around 30 steps per minute while keeping the seat level via a 360° self-balancing system.
What's the weight limit and how heavy is the chair?
Max user weight is 136 kg (300 lb). The X12 itself weighs about 100 kg, so it is designed to live and travel with the user rather than be lifted in and out of a car.
When can I get one in the UK?
The X12 is on pre-order from Sable Motion with a £500 refundable deposit. Estimated UK arrival is June 2026.
Is it covered by a warranty?
Yes — every X12 sold by Sable Motion ships with manufacturer warranty and UK-based service support. We are an authorised XSTO distributor.
