Terms & Conditions

1. About us

These terms apply to all purchases made through sablemotion.com. The site is operated by Sable Motion Ltd, a UK-based bespoke mobility and robotics store. Contact: sales@sablemotion.com, 07492 426754. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are an independent retailer of XSTO and other mobility products — we are not the sole or exclusive UK distributor of XSTO, and we are not affiliated with the manufacturer beyond our supply agreement.

2. Orders & pricing

All prices are in GBP. Prices for mobility products are shown ex-VAT where customers may qualify for VAT relief under HMRC 701/7; non-mobility products are shown inclusive of 20% VAT. The applicable price and any delivery charge are confirmed at checkout. An order is accepted when we send written confirmation.

3. Deposits & pre-orders (X12 & X12 Pro)

The XSTO X12 and X12 Pro are built to order and are sold on a pre-order basis. A £1,000 reservation deposit secures your build slot. Deposits are fully refundable within 14 days of payment; after 14 days the deposit becomes non-refundable but remains fully redeemable against the balance of your order.

Indicative lead time is approximately October from deposit, subject to manufacturing and shipping schedules. Lead times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. The outstanding balance, plus any applicable delivery charge quoted to you, is collected before the chair is dispatched. Configuration choices (colour, seating, accessories) are locked once your build enters production.

4. Delivery

UK mainland delivery is free on all products. Dispatch is next business day for in-stock items. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, islands and remote postcodes may attract a surcharge, which we quote before payment. Larger items such as the X12 range are delivered by specialist courier and a signature is required. Please inspect your order on delivery and notify us of any transit damage within 48 hours. See our Shipping Policy for the full schedule.

5. Returns & refunds

Consumers in the UK have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Goods must be returned unused and in their original packaging — please retain all packaging. Return shipping is at your expense, and we recommend insuring the shipment for its full value; where we arrange specialist collection on your behalf the cost is charged to you. Where an item is returned in a reduced condition we may make a proportionate deduction from the refund. Made-to-order and bespoke builds, including configured X12 and X12 Pro chairs, are excluded from change-of-mind returns once production has begun. See our Refund & Returns Policy for the full process.

6. Warranty & guarantees

All XSTO products carry the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, covering 2 years on electronics, drive components and batteries and 5 years on the structural frame of the X12 and X12 Pro. Warranty cover is administered back-to-base: faulty items must be returned to the manufacturer's service centre for assessment, and return shipping is the customer's expense.

Where an accredited mobility dealer is local to you, we may dispatch parts directly following accurate remote diagnosis, at our discretion. Warranty does not cover wear-and-tear (including tyres, upholstery and normal battery capacity loss), accidental damage, water ingress beyond the product's stated IP rating, unauthorised modification or repair, commercial hire use, or misuse. Warranty cover is non-transferable and requires proof of purchase. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.

7. VAT relief

Eligible customers can claim 0% VAT on qualifying mobility products by completing the HMRC eligibility declaration at checkout. False declarations are an offence under HMRC rules; the customer is responsible for the accuracy of the declaration.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for the goods.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
